I might join you.
Weather forecast looks ideal. Very low east wind and incoming tide.
Wind been blowing west, so maybe water be clear enough.
Be good to look for kgw and some squid.

Winds do look pretty perfect, water was a little churned up yesterday from the winds but clear.

Has been some nice kgw shallow in the warmer water, and pinkies around over the broken bottoms 1-4m . Squid are still pretty slow.
I'll be chasing some kgw / pinkies on plastics, and then maybe squid.

Looking to arrive 7-8am, but flexible and will be with a mate. cheers!

I'll be with a mate, be there 5:30am to start fishing at 6am.
That's the aim, the reality is i might sleep in a little haha.
I'll be on white viking kayak, and a mate be on green Slayer 10 kayak.

Hi everybody,

I did launch at Clifton Springs this morning around 8am.
A day to forget.
Conditions were a little ordinary.
Fish were scarce for me except for undersized pinkies.
Two hours later decided to prop with the anchor first time and it got worse.
I came off the kayak. Just being silly and not thinking things through properly.
Got back on just fine.
But left my Zodias/Vanford combo behind.
Learnt some lessons from today.
Did anyone else get out??

Oh dear...

Yeah i fished there 6am-9am. You probably saw me, i was on white viking kayak. Met Andrew.
Yeah wind got pretty strong and roughed up the wster around 7:30-8am.

My mate got lucky and got two squid straight out and close (1.5m water) early morning around 6:15am, and gone quiet.
We went to 2.5m, not far at all and we caught few kgw.
Wind got pretty strong and got real choppy. We went back to the shallow 1.5m and onto kgw frenzy.
Between us two, we caught 2 squid, 1 flatty around 35cm, 1 pinkie 29cm, took home a dozen kgw, and released probably another dozen of kgw.

Both bait and worm plastic got us the kgw but bait was more productive.

Nice to know there were some fish to catch.
Spoke to another guy on an Outback.
He had 2 KGW and a Flathead.
That was as I was heading back feeling a bit ordinary.
There was another gentleman I met from Canberra who had a quick 20 minute session on his Pryml, maybe from BCF. Too bumpy he said. I never felt unsafe until I came off unexpectedly for what felt like less than a minute. Lost a bit of gear. I’ve still got plenty at home.

I’m happy you and your buddy had a nice session.

Yeah i saw that guy with the prmyl kayak.
Definitely got really choppy for sometime.

You lost gears, but you didn't lose your life.
Some incidents can be fatal. Especially if on not so good kayak, no other safety stuff like live vest, etc.
The guy with the prmyl made a really good decision heading back.

Agreed with the comments on the wind, I let my place at 7.30am to 5km winds, reached the ramp five minutes later to 15km winds. The difference a few degrees in an easterly wind makes is crazy onshore vs offshore. We launched shortly after Sebb finished up and stayed shallow.

Good meeting you too Sebb, awesome that you were able to snag a few kgw - they've been keeping in shallow with the warmer water. Same with the pinkies!
