Post by Charlie8003 » Mon Dec 21, 2020 11:54 am

Hi Guys

Thinking about getting off the bank and giving Yak fishing a go considering buying a NEXTGEN 9 Fishing Kayak for use mainly in rivers and the odd lake on nice quiet day.
Currently selling for $539 which is seems a good price.

Has anyone used one? What are your thoughts?

They’re not very good for bay fishing on anything other than very flat conditions but for rivers and lakes you might as well get something like that.

If you can afford a pedal yak of some description it’ll be much nicer to fish out of.

Haven't used one before but from the looks of it, you will need a very calm flat water. Beware, even on calm weather you can still get some chops from jetski, boat, etc.
Maybe hire or borrow friend's kayak first to give you some ideas.

I think if you were looking to ever go out into the bay you may want to look at 3m+
