Ignore the jokes on Wollys post. I am seriously chasing a cheap sounder for my float tube.

I'm tempted to go new. $109 for a hook3x. $189 for a hook4x. But I figured I'd see what's out there.

Garmin 300c
Lowrance 3, 4, 5 inch sounders in the elite/hook range
Anything else that's colour screen and in ok condition will suit me fine.

Home made enclosure/ghetto transducer mount is made. Just need the sounder to finish it off.

I picked up a Garmin Striker 4 Fishfinder yesterday they seem to be a lot better than the Lowrance Hook 3x and not much more.

A mate has lent me a lowrance x4 black and white for the time being. Got it yesterday. Will rig it up. Still thinking about colour though.

Let me know how it goes, as I've got an elite 3 here now, decided I wanted gps so upgraded to a hook 4.
