Gippsland Lakes Mulloway?

Post by Yabbie » Sat Aug 24, 2013 6:17 pm

Anyone heard of them being caught in the Gippsland lakes system? Not after peoples secret spots, just curious as I've never heard of them being targeted there yet the Corrong over in SA (similar system kinda) is rife with them. Any one got any clues?

Yeah Yabbie.

You can target Mulloway in the lakes region, Metung's a good spot, the Tambo and Nicholson rivers and the lakes itself too.

We love fishing down there and have had a few big runs which have ended in bust offs on lighter gear which may have been the big Silver beasts!

Good Luck, I hope to get away down that way when the weather warms up a bit!

Cheers,

Cam.

I have seen and caught mulloway in the lakes entrance water system, not huge 5-6kg. Caught them on soft plastics, vibes and sand worm. Also have a chance of a much larger mulloway or shark in a gutter along ninety mile beach.
Here fishy fishy.......

Without a doubt Mulloway live & hunt in the Gippsland lakes & estuaries , i imagine there would be some great Mulloway angling to be had.
