Thirty five odd hours and not even a sign of a silver shadow in the last six weeks or so

Definitely on my bucket list for this season.
I'll be trying down south gippsland though, I'm sure there will be lots of trial and error

Re: any mulloway sightings this season?
My brother and I caught 9 or so earlier in the season - not including a number of (distressing) losses. One morning we got wiped out by two fish on one bridge, including an unstoppable beast ... let us never speak of it again. Having said that, it's been absolutely dead on the mulloway front for the last couple of months for us. The last time they seemed to be around was when there were trevally were in the system in numbers.

Hi Bennyjj
Have posted a link here://www.pir.sa.gov.au/fisheries/recreationa ... s/mulloway" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" which might help you with thoughts on Mulloway breeding habits, the whole article in general isn't a bad read, it might not help you target an area to fish but will give you a better understanding of the fish.

Heard of some caught recently in Maribyrnong on tubeworm. Just had one live mullet stolen and another short run which dropped it. Here's hoping.

Just out of interest - does anyone eat their Mulloway catches from the Yarra, Maribyrnong or northern PPB?

Re: any mulloway sightings this season?
I'm purely catch and release with these type of fish as they are so hard to come by. Even though I've never caught one i wouldn't dream of keeping one, just a quick pic and off to fight another day. This is the reason people don't give away their spots, or when and how they are catching them because people keep them….bilby wrote:Just out of interest - does anyone eat their Mulloway catches from the Yarra, Maribyrnong or northern PPB?
