Hi,
Not too long ago I was reading wpb land based fishing guide and I saw that it had some info on jews at Hastings, but very little. I have also spoken to a guy once that said he had hooked up 3 times and once spooled, so I was wondering if anyone knew much about them on when they are caught and even where to catch live bait as I tried last night but couldn’t get a live bait, ended up using fresh squid but all I got was 3 banjos.
Hastings pier mulloway?

Re: Hastings pier mulloway?
They're not easy catch.
Never specifically in Hastings, but i did spend time hunting them, ages ago.
Usually Aug/Sept, spend the afternoon looking for mullet during tide change, put into bucket, and use them as live bait when its dark and slack tide.
Hooked like 5 times, but only landed once.

Thanks, I’ve started gathering a bit of an idea on what to do but still need to learn quite a bit more, mostly about the specific area but that is still very helpful.Sebb wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 5:07 pmThey're not easy catch.
