Geez, I can't understand you blokes. I think they are actually trying to help you. Every time my electricity plan comes up for renewal I log into the comparable website here in NSW to compare plans. I'm surprised you haven't been doing it yourselves in Victoria before this. And now you are actually getting paid to do do it!
Get into it.
Col.
hahaha sorry mate i was just having a laugh, your always welcome on here :rf:
Thanks fisho. I've got pretty thick skin so I wasn't offended anyway, but I do still try to avoid offering an opinion on issues which are purely Victorian.

I have zero evidence of the above mate, it's just me presuming that's what might happen.
Hence why I'm asking if anyone knew anything otherwise.
Ok. Perhaps you could ask your local pollie re data collection.

From where I stand the most likely reason is its a stimulus package that the govt. are trying to get a bit of extra value out of by forcing you to use the comparator website and hopefully follow through on getting a better deal. Basically meaning every household gets $250 + whatever savings they can get. It could also be to do with the energy crisis stuff but I find that less likely.

The terms and conditions are stating the obvious lolll. I wasnt expecting anything different anyway. I just had a quick look, How these are interpreted can be the tricky bit. Clearly says 3rd party's are involved. But also says they won't use data collected.

Yeah making you use that compare website is what's making me suspicious.
If they really wanted to help people save money then why not reduce mortgage stress on first home buyers and renters reduce petrol prices, electricity and gas prices. Aka not make them privately owned or billed, let the government run them. And many others like that.
