Weekend disaster news

Boat capsized crossing a sand bar in Gold Coast.
I don't much experience in boating apart from hiring an unlicensed boat (15hp max), but I can understand enough that it's a bad idea to cross that.

Boat on fire in Fremantle.
We hear stories every now and then how boats doing nothing mooring and catch fire. Wonder if there's common cause.

Crossing a bar is probably the most dangerous thing to attempt without experience and also knowing the water on the particular bar
Far too often we read about fatalities or near misses

There is no footage of the first wave that killed the motor which is a shame.

Conditions did not look too bad just bad timing.
