Most banks have increased their fixed rates. Which only means one thing. Interest rate rises are coming soon.
House prices most likely will drop as a result, it's absolutely ridiculous how much houses are going for atm.

I saw the effects of the cost of living increase this weekend. I went to check out a Haines 520 at a very reasonable price. I was expecting some hidden trap like the motor has finance, or a soft transom. Nope. The guy and his wife have incoming kid and their finances are tight and they're already behind on their mortgage so the boat had to go quickly. It was depressing as hell. The guy clearly spent a lot of time and effort maintaining the customizing the boat and you can tell how much it hurt to lose it.

The worst part is that if he's struggling with mortgage repayments now, it'll be even worse later this year when they go up. He mentioned he's trying to get more hours at work so hopefully that'll come through for him.

How much was the boat going for? Did you buy it.

House prices going up.
Construction costs going up.
Fuel going up
Interest rates going up

Wages. Still stagnated af.

They can increase the interest rates to stem the inflation but I don't think many will benefit from it. Investors will see more costs. They will increase rent to help offset it. And the average spend still increases for the people renting. Meaning they aren't likely to get any decent savings and the cycle continues.

I don't have the answers for the record.
