Re: Back in lockdown again.
Most of the people I have come across that are upset about lockdowns are those who have missed out on financial support and have been forced out of work.

I think we still need to stay vigilant when it comes to COVID and the spreading of COVID variants for an extended period of time which unfortunately means years for us in Australia. The greatest risk COVID will pose in the future lies in it's high viral loads, fast multiplication rates and most importantly the extend the virus is spread across the globe. The more COVID that exists globally the greater chance it has to mutate into stronger, more deadly variants which will eventually be at our doorstep. I think also when we look at the US, thier demographic and geographics are different and also remembering they had COVID hit them in winter. Next winter in the US is a point of concern within a lot of groups right now.
Australia's effort to vaccinate the vulnerable and the greater general population will help prevent the severity and spread of COVID, but to actually achieve herd immunity we're looking at least a 80%+ and with the such high viral loads, even with herd immunity COVID still poses an threat.
I think the greatest thing Australia has going for it is the geographical location, we're a hardy bunch of people and I think we will get ontop of this in the long run and bring us all to a new COVID normal lifestyle. We are in winter, and if cases are going to happen and spread, it will be now. Be safe, take care and look out for eachother.
