That should never be allowed to happen anywhere in Australia, it has a very strong Socialist/Communist vibe about it

Re: Back in lockdown again.
i think you will find that most of the other state have this power already.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: Back in lockdown again.
You mean the one state where these powers aren't permanent and need to be voted on and renewed every time? Literally no other state caps how long these can go for and a lot of them have this power permanently.Seniorfisho wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:59 amThat should never be allowed to happen anywhere in Australia, it has a very strong Socialist/Communist vibe about it
Also, this has nothing to do with socialism or communism. The word you're looking for is Authorotarianism.

I don't even know what the Murdoch Juice is, is it something you drink? You say Authorotarianism as if it's a good thing, not much difference when you put the 2 together, lolDougieK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 6:07 pmYou mean the one state where these powers aren't permanent and need to be voted on and renewed every time? Re: Back in lockdown again.
Nothing wrong with a bit of authoritarianism if it's for the right reasons. I'd rather our leadership just did what they thought best in a crisis rather than drafting a proposal, sending it to a steering committee, putting it before the next mothers club meeting, putting it out for public submissions for 3 months, debating in parliament before getting royal assent. Obviously if it's not genuinely in the public interest (such as sending a counter terrorism squad after an inconvenient youtuber) then it is definitely not a good thing.
Anyway, there's been another quarantine breach in NSW in the last few days. The more this **** happens the more I think Victoria was just unlucky back in May 2020 to be the first breach and the fuss about security guards was just looking for something to blame.

Re: Back in lockdown again.
I see the police in WA are accessing QR contact tracing data to aid their investigations, I think that's pretty Orwellian, amazing Dan didn't come up with this first, or maybe he has and has managed to keep it under wraps? I think the best thing to do is to get vaccinated so all this can be put behind us and we can embrace the possibility of life returning to sort of how it was before Covid.

Re: Back in lockdown again.
there have been quarantine breaches to the north of us a few time the main difference there has been there contact tracing stopped it quickly so there was no need to lock down a whole state each time4liters wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 6:53 pmAnyway, there's been another quarantine breach in NSW in the last few days.
