Everything that has nothing to do with fishing.

The wife says "gel" nail polish drys faster than normal nail polish, but, under uv light.
So unless you have the equipment laying around, it's not worth it
Clear coat is the same as nail polish.
She did suggest resin, although the small amount you would use could make it awkward

I have a a uv light at home.
I had to get some groceries this arvin, so looked for nail polish.
No clear black or white available. I wanted some to paint jigheads with as well.

Will have to keep looking.

Local Priceline had some but at 14 bucks a pop I figured it was best on someones nails than on a jighead.

Had a crack again on the weekend after I got a vice and bobbin loaned to me by a member on here ive known for a while (thanks again mate)

The hooks are lot bigger than id like them to be, but thats the only ones i have lyig around in the shed atm, so had to use them..

my attempt at replicating a nuclear chicken minnow

Baitfish sorta pattern

Did a 3rd one for the day but I ****** this one up on the first go as I used multiple layers and did it in the wrong order :rf: I redid it again and made sure I was doing it the right way without binding over existing pattern
I used a prebought jighead to give it a bit more life..

Halfway through. I wasn't sure how to finish the arse end of it..

Last minute decision ended up like this.. might trim the tail down a bit more later on
Screenshot_20201005-105005_Instagram.jpg
I also added a small bit of knitting yarn inside the belly to give it a bit of contrast, it also has uv in it so it glows nicely under uv light

Plenty of learning curves along the way...

Uv glue doesn't work well on cloudy days..
Make sure uv torch has enough power, low batteries means it won't set the uv glue either
Make sure you have an idea of the pattern sequence you are attempting to tie, otherwise you will end up having to do it again..

Cheers

Looks good! You should try it out in water to see if it retains the body profile or if it all reduces to the same thickness profile
