After a few topics where members suggested a few photos would improve my reports I thought I would ask the question what camera do you guys use?
My photography skills suck and i'm usually trying to release my catch and get another one so a quick poor quality iphone photo is all I end up with.

So boat anglers, kayak anglers and landbased fishos whats your camera of choice and any hints or tips to get a quality photo?

Most of my pics nowdays are from the phone. Samsung galaxy 7 I think it is.
As for tips. If your on your own either use the selfie mode. Or front facing camera.
Or use the timer mode on your camera phone.
Takes some getting used to so don't give up straight away. Once you have the framing worked out( how far to hold the fish from the camera so you get the whole thing in the shot and associated angles etc) then its a matter of firing off a few pics and picking the one you loved the best.
You can also get bluetooth enabled remote controllers that you can use in collaboration with the timer on your phone to get some good shots.

I used to use my SLR if I had it on me ( fishing comps and such) for the sheer factor of being able to manipulate the scene to get the desired photo I wanted. But these days my phone can do almost similar sort of adjustments and shoots in RAW format so no need for SLR anymore.

I have the following camera for fishing, it's a compact Canon Powershot SX620HS digital camera.. Small fits in the pocket & packs a lot of punch..
Very easy to use in auto or manual mode.. great 25x optical zoom as well a video.. comes with battery & charger..

Characterized by its long-reaching zoom, the red PowerShot SX620 HS from Canon is a sleek digital camera featuring a high-resolution 20.2MP CMOS sensor along with a powerful DIGIC 4+ image processor.
