Got the phone call today, my workcover payments stop on the 24th of December
Yes Christmas eve. Have heard nothing from my employer.
If I don't hear from my employer, I'll put in sick, annual and long service leave forms.
That's about 6 months worth of leave
I am pretty sure work will terminate me on the same date, but we'll see

Retirement here we come

Workcover is different, if you've been off for over 12 months they are not required to take you back. I will Have been off for 32 months, in December.
Work have made it clear that, if I'm not 100% fit, they won't take me back and by law they don't have to.

Am in the union, used Maurice Blackburn, paid nothing up front
Am 16% disabled and have been paid out accordingly
To claim loss of income etc, you have to be over 20% disabled
