Dunbier or Quintrex trailer for 4.2m inflatable boat
After much research, it seems that a folding boat trailer is not the safest way to go for someone without towing experience like me. Currently I am looking at 2 of the Australian brands, Dunbier sports 4.3 and Qunintrex Telwater. The Dunbier is a steel frame, while the Quintrex is aluminium plus steel.

Since I do not have any experience in towing. I would like to seek advice in here before I make any decision. Much appreciated for any insight!

Both trailers are from well known respected builders, either trailer should serve you well. Best practice is to wash down the trailer after every salt water use for longevity.

Didn't you get the inflatable boat because you couldn't store tour boat at your place of residence?
If that's the case, where will you store the trailer?
A bit on the pricier side. But did you consider a berth at the local marina ?
No need to worry about storage or size etc .
Cheers

I am thinking of placing it vertically when not in use. Considered a folding trailer originally. But it seems that it is not very safe over 80kph on road. quite hesitating considering my space limitation. But safety comes first, with no towing experience.
For a berth at local marina, does it work for inflatable?

I would ring and ask your local ones of they have availability and pricing.
Makes a lot of things easier for you.
No need to store anything at home, drive to the .marina, get in the boat and go boating/fishing
Come back get in the car and come home, they will put the boat away and wash it etc for you.
Its not going to be cheap, but might be the easy option for you if you have the spare cash..
Eventually can always get a bigger safer boat too if you want.

Then I think I better practice more with the inflatable first and then look at the marina option when I upgrade eventually. Thanks for you suggestion anyway.

Have a look at the weights, one is 190 Kg, the other is 140, which one would you prefer to stand up vertically?
Cheers

That's a good point. Thanks for that. Probably 140kg more manageable for me.

If you have a pulley system or block and tackle set up to lift it ( many electric units available ) then weight is not an issue as much as the space. Pictures in the link.HK_Freedom wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 10:47 amThat's a good point. Thanks for that. Probably 140kg more manageable for me.

So, apart from weight, how does an aluminium frame compare to a steel drone in actual usage, stability, maintenance, etc?
