Trailer wash thingo

Post by denis barden » Mon Aug 23, 2021 2:22 am

Ive got an Alloy C frame trailer and I find it hard to wash it where the Gal bolts fit into the alloy frame,
I replaced all the 50 odd nuts and bolts. So I made up this guy out of junk lying around to wash between the C channel and under the trailer

What I have done before is spay with pressure hose from the opposite side, you can get to them easily that way.
Involves crouching down a bit, so might not be possible for everyone.
I do the same to wash the inside of the axle as well.

A mate of mine has fitted irrigation 13mm tube and spray heads to his trailer. He pulls up, plugs the hose on to his contraption and turns on the water.

I was going to use SS but I was worried you then have 3 different types on metals together

As long as you use grade 316 no problem, did my last boat trailer which I had for 20 years and the ss bolts did not cause any issues

Just make sure the head of the bolts are marked-A4 70 which are a higher tensile strength than the ones on the Telwater trailers
