I blew a load in my pants when I seen that at Patto. It's pure sex on water.

My comments come from owning a big glass boat and alloy boats and being on and driven big new plate alloy boats a fair bit bowl.. I wouldn't be talking if i didn't have experience with all the boats we are talking about.bowl wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:18 pmSo you were talking about boat lasting the test time...yeahSinsemilla wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:14 pmSorry fellas i didn't know we were talking about 30-40 years ago..

? EvidenceGultch78 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 10:15 pmWhat evidence do you have to support these comments good fibreglass boats are sought after and rebuilt, repainted, repaired for decades unlike alloy and hold there valueSinsemilla wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:52 pmI'd go the stabi. Safer than the other boats. Setup well for fishing, Alloy so way less maintenance and will last longer than a fiberglass boat. Probably better resale value as well.

Let's not forget who and why this thread was started. Robbie asked for opinions. This isn't a fibreglass vs. aluminium debate. He just wanted opinions on boats he's looking at. Both aluminium and glass boats can be rubbish or absolutely beautiful. He wasn't asking about quinnys or stacers, Or 100+k haines rebuilds.

Re: Stabicraft / Bar Crusher V's Haines Hunter
Sure we can all give opinions but you made 3 statements in your post all I asked for was evidence
First off you said
stabi was safer
Then you said
Alloy so way less maintenance
Then
Will last longer than a fibreglass boat
These are all put forward as facts not opinions all I asked is to provide evidence even anecdotal would do and we can have a conversation about it happy to have my own opinion changed with logical informed info
In this particular thread we need more info from the prospective boat owner ie
Where he fishes
His boat driving experience
His goal with owning a boat ie (fish magnet or chick/dude magnet)
His tow vehicle
the list goes on all these things add up to us as a forum having a better understanding of the soon to be boaters needs
My personal opinion is that if new to boating an alloy secondhand boat is a great starting point no stress about smashing jetty's and trailers or scratches and smashed sinkers against your polished gelcoat
Oh and my rebuild didn't cost 100K but thats not far of what it's insured for now
i added about 35k of value with head scratching, sweat , understanding family and of course the old fibreglass itch
