if your going out the heads then queenscliff is closer to you.
otherwise sorrento is a good ramp

Thanks Purple5 yeah I was looking at travel times and it’s the same to either Queenscliff or sorrento so that’s why I thought I’d try something different. Going out the heads is a new thing for me so depending on tides and weather I’ll see how it goes.

You can launch at Mornington, Blairgowie does not have a public ramp. There is also Martha Cove which has heaps of parking. Sorrento if you wish to travel the far.
Thanks Wolly hopefully I get the time Saturday and I might give sorrento a go it’s the same travel time for me and it’s something different. I might even catch a fish :super:

Cost: $10 Daily, $40 Monthly and $70 Yearly (Tickets are available from local commercial outlets or Bass Coast Shire Council)
Lanes: 3 lanes
Low Tide Access: Good
Wind Protection: Average
Toilets: Yes
Fish Cleaning: yes
Ramp Angle: Good
Parking: About 40 spaces
Jetty: yes, limited mooring
Overall: Generally pretty good, has Phillip Island Marine (tackle/bait/petrol station) there which is very convenient.

Great information here, but did you know similar information is now available on the Boating Vic app, the info on Altona includes cameras, weather conditions and forecasts
