Re: Stabicraft / Bar Crusher V's Haines Hunter
All I’ll say is, at the prices I got quoted, rebuilding an old Haines definitely comes back into the equation. Also value for money is geared more toward plate boats (strictly imo)
I’ll be asking the local dealership if I can test a 611 crossover because IMO that seems to me the best value for money plate boat on the market. Likewise with fibreglass, I’d be interested in getting a quote from a smaller brand like Yaltacraft, which seem exception value for money as well.

sounds like your decision has been made then Put a deposit down before your missus talks you out of itKimtown wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 12:38 pmPretty quick actually. 4-6 week build period, a few months of back dated orders by the sounds of it. Could be in a brand new one around mid next year if payment was made today

If you can organise a drive day in a 611 and a 651, out of welshy or western port, I would be keen to try as well

Basing off seeing previous Edencraft builds (a few years back) I'd say Hary at Razorcraft has the edge on build quality. And if you've got a need for speed in just about any conditions those hulls will cut through nicer than the Edencrafts

On boatsales there's a 2016 Haines 595 offshore that just came for sale in very good nick for 72k which IMO is a pretty damn good price. Too bad the thing is fitted with a 150hp. I don't understand what the original owner was thinking putting a 150 on the back.

IMO amazing value. No thrills type of boat that can do pretty much anything.

I'll show my boating ignorance here. I notice that the 595 Offshore has a max power rating of 175HP and I see a number of them advertised with 150HP motors, so this one is not unusual. Is 150 HP woefully inadequate or would you just prefer the maximum rated motor if you had your druthers?Robbie1950 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 6:24 amOn boatsales there's a 2016 Haines 595 offshore that just came for sale in very good nick for 72k which IMO is a pretty damn good price. I have no idea why the 595 has a maximum rating of 175hp perhaps it is the recommended hp?
