New Lowrance 9Ti2

Post by Wombatroo » Sat Dec 26, 2020 2:58 pm

Hi I have just bought a new lowrance 9ti2. It will be awhile before I can have it installed.
I am wondering if I can put my new GPS marks in before its installed?
Is there a computer program I can use and save to the SD card?
Cheers Tarnia

First question . What GPS are your marks in now. If it is Lowrance then easy. Just copy them to a card. Then upload to new GPS. If it is another brand then it may need a conversion program. E.g gpsu. There are quite a few programs out there
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Hi re-tyred
I have been given pages of marks. My old lowrance will not back up to the SD card so will need to re-enter those as well. Was hoping I could load them on the SD card with the computer.

Download easygps to your PC. You should be able to type them in and save to SD card in Lowrance format. I use a program called GPSU, but it is more technical and setup to convert to multiple different GPS systems. The biggest issue in these programs is getting the format correct. I.E. if your GPS is set as degrees minutes decimal minutes. Then you need to make sure that you enter them into your software in that format.
Formats options are. Degrees decimal degrees. eg. 38.65437 s
Degrees minutes decimal minutes.e.g. 38'30.3456s
Degrees minutes, seconds. Eg. 38'30'25.456s

Also beginner mistake is to not get the north, south, east, west correct. Programs use either S or - for south. And W or - for west. So in Australia region.
Either - 38'26.4567 or 38'26.4567 S
140'26.4567 or 140'26.4567 E
