Any places?

Post by Tadyyn » Fri Jun 18, 2021 10:20 am

Anyone have any places to just catch some fish, I've been out so much but I've only got 1 brim and a pinky on bait, I don't mind what I catch just want to practise reeling in and fighting the fish lol, catch and release as always. i know that's its winter but their has to be a few still out feeding :). I've been to brighton pier, west gate, the nong, Patterson lake, Frankston pier, princess pier, yarra river, albert park lake and gardiners creek. Thanks :gj:

A great target would be just the carp.
Heaps pf places you can target them and relatively easy to catch.
Find your local pond and get stuck into them.
Will fight way better than most other things you would catch landbased around here, especially at this time of the year.

There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Those are great places. Just try to target diff fish with diff rigs.
E.g. Aussie salmon and garfish. They are common fish to target in winter. Bream is all year round.

The Nong is good, I find fishing the run-in tide to be most productive. Prawns or pilchard on the bottom has worked well for me. The same strategy works at Docklands, too. I've spent the bulk of my time fishing those two areas this year and plan on continuing right through the winter months.

Near the carpark is a gap between the reeds. Cast to edge of the reeds. You don't need to cast far.
