For the first time, a seal was our friend. It was herding the massive school close to shore. When the school tried to escape to the deep, the seal blocked their path and pushed the school back to the shallows.

There were 6 of us plus the seal. Many times we were all hooked up. All bagged out.

We left the area with the school just meters from the beach. Too tired to enjoy catch and release. :sr:

I heard about them busting up down this way, spotted some birds working off Clifton Springs yesterday.

Still some good fish around Barwon Heads at the mouth, big trev's and salmon pushing through with the current. Plastics seem to be the go.
Caught these the past week on 3" plastics, 1/4 3.0 big heads. Had three bigger fish shake the hooks as the current was insane w/ king tide.

Have you been fishing for squid in St Leonards, Andrews? Any good lately?
Unfortunately not, ended up catching a lung infection which has knocked me out for four weeks.
I may have a flick this weekend, from what I've heard it's been pretty slow going,

I was there couple weeks ago and bagged out on squid, 7 of them were small but had 3 decent ones in the bag. Lots of cast required to grab thier attention. Red foil jigs did the damage in size 2.5, couple others got thier bag too from what I saw.

Yeah on the mend now, recovered but pretty hesitant to fish while it's so cold haha.

Awesome hearing they were around a few weeks back.
