Fishing Victoria Forum

Hi Guys,

My name is Mark and I'm new to your forum... Although I've visited it from time time to time, I thought that I should really join formally.

I'm 57 years old and have been a keen fisherman since my teens... I've fished all over Victoria and a little interstate. Both fresh and saltwater. I love my trout fishing but most of my experience has been boat fishing in Port Phillip Bay targeting snapper and whiting. (Which I began before bag limits were introduced).

Surf Fishing, Trolling Lakes, Spinning, Bait Fishing and even Floundering with spears. I've tried many methods... And caught many species.

I retired from full time work 12 months ago to renovate our home and start my own Custom Rod Building Business - Southern Bayside Custom Rods.

I began rod building in my early 20's and learned from some great rod builders over the years. It's something I've always loved doing - So now I figure I've done the hard work... Now it's time to do what I enjoy.

I'm happy to help out anyone who has rod building/repair questions and I certainly am available to do any custom rods, rebuilds or repairs.
