Hey Jim!
You can just use some of my jigs, I have a fair few you can use and you can use most rods easily! Or just borrow mine if you want :)

Thanks for the offers but I would rather use my own gear in case I lose things...definitely will buy one jig to start with...if I lose that then i may then ask around. So, whats an all round good color to start with!

Also, I have had in depth pm discussion with my coach (to protect his identity I shall refer to him as 'purps') regarding sp's for the day. Not sure if there are many members attending who are not salt experienced, but what are peoples 'go to' plastics (brand/size/style/color rtc) for the fishies that can be captured there?
cheers
Jim

Get a Shimano Sephia 14t size 3.0, great allround jig, and for plastics my favourite is the strike tiger fire tail and vodka and orange in the 4 inch size.

What sloth said for the soft plastic!
And as far as jig a red Yamashita is a real good colour! Called an NDRA and produces really well in low light!

Red is better for refracting light in low light conditions:

So the theory is that the squid as a visual predator can see the jig better. Only a general rule though.
