looking to start on beaches

Hi legends!
I'm looking to branch out with some beach fishing and chasing some gummies and salmon in the winter this year.
I have no idea where to go though? Is there any particular beach from Geelong down to Lorne that is good for newbies?

I've never caught any gummies off the surf but heard gummies caught in Barwon Heads, JanJuc beach, Bells beach.

Salmon can be caught from any of the beaches from Point Lonsdale all the way to Lorne. They have pretty similar features.

Point Addis is a marine park, the border is the end of Jarosite Road. Bells Beach and Jan Juc is ok.

OK i'll give you a secret tip but dont tell anybody else...Head down to Fishermans Beach after dark fishing the last two hours of ebb tide into the flood tide using squid for bait. One lighter rod with small hooks, one with big hooks. Thank me later

Easternview beach at low tide allows you to fish the drop off, very good after dark

Now I'm not sure, lol.
I fished there couple of years ago, no sign of marine park or no fishing on the carpark. Not sure though, I could be wrong and fished marine park, lol.

The line on your hand drawn map goes to the wrong headland, its actually the point just to the east of bells beach meaning the beach itself is within the marine park.

Here's vfas summary on marine marks and it links to a pdf that has gps co-ords of all the marine parks. This is listed as the north east corner of point addis marine park -38 22 04, 144 17 06.

Alternatively you can use navionics webapp http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en (you can change to satellite view to see the roads and landmarks properly)

Oh darn. I misinterpreted the book. I fished the marine park then.
I remember I was in my mate's car and parked on this GPS.-38 22 04, 144 17 06
