Social isolation at Gunnamatta

Post by Troy McLure » Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:10 pm

I disregarded my lockdown guilt and headed down to Gunnamatta at first light this morning. Conditions were beautiful, no breeze, small swell and not many people fishing either. Looked very fishy to me. Started casting lures in front of the stairs and worked my way left up the beach and back again. Spent about 3 hours and not so much as a tap on my lure. Spoke to one bloke who said he caught two “horses” in two casts but other than that I didn’t see anything caught. Started off hopeful but finished with donuts but I’ll definitely be back again, beats the hell out of working anyway.

Low tide hasn't been producing the last couple of years.

I’d have stayed all day but had to be back home by lunch. Generally I go fishing when time allows and the tide is what the tide is. Hopefully next time.
