How's Ninety Mile beach for smaller fish? Was thinking of heading down on the long weekend with my surf rods but not after anything too big!

Well been and done now. Quick report on it. Yesterday was a complete balls up. Wind like 15kmh more than forecast. Direct easterly.

I knocked off nightshift 7:30am Saturday having been up since 2pm or so on Friday getting ready.

Ended up driving half of Victoria coastline finding an area not shagged with wind. Covered practically every place from paradise beach to Venus bay before giving up and sleeping.

Woke up this morning and hit up kilcunda. Had a ball catching heaps of mullet and salmon. Droned out a bait and got a giller for our troubles.

My young fella was keen as mustard to dong it. Held that sledgie the entire fight. Makes me chuckle so much. Had to grab him away from it’s mouth when I said to come for a pic and he ran up front on. Haha. Mate scored a ripper pic of it.

Have learnt so much about doing it and will be doing it again in a much smarter manner.

Thanks gents.

Yeah was a massive road trip and Saturday was a complete write off. But yesterday made up for it and it was fun anyway.

Young fella is properly hooked now and has some cool stories for school today. Keen as mustard to get out there and catch some bronzies.
