Fish & Chips ( Good ol fish n chippys! )
Sup guys & gals! Heres alil easy Fish & Chips recipe!
I had a fresh Gummy Shark all Filleted and and cut into the pieces i want..Or alternatively you can just buy Any type of fish from the market and use that
What you will Need:-
Fresh whole fish (filleting it yourself is best) Or if you dont know how to fillet fish then theres already pre cut fillets available to buy.
Plain Flour - 2 cups
Bi-carb soda ( Baking Soda ) - 1 tablespoon
Garlic Salt ( Or any type of season you wish to add into it i.e Pepper/herbs ) - 1 teaspoon
Corn Starch (Flour) - 2 tablespoon
Oil - *NOTE* you can use canola oil or any cheap oil but i chose to use Grapeseed oil only cause it burns at a higher temp and is much nicer to use , Or you can use Cottonseed oil but i def like the grapeseed for deep frying fish etc.
What you need to do:-
So once you have your fresh fillet of Fish Or Gummy Shark, Put it aside to be ready to cook.
Pre-mix your batter - Theres many ways to make different types of batter but this is how i like to make mine
Shifting through all the ingredients into a mixing bowl then add water to your mix, Now depending how thick you like your batter is entirely up to you! By adding more water itll get runny so you can decide how thick you want it.. i generally have mine thick.
So once your mix is all ready to go ,.. pre heat your pan with the Grapeseed or any Oil you choose to use.
Now pour some Plain Flour onto a plate and get your Fish fillet covered all the way through, this ensures that the batter sticks to your fish.
Once you have all that put your fish into the batter and then into the frying pan ,.. Cook couple minutes aside or until light golden brown (Fish cooks really fast) so depending on how picky you are you can have it cooking until its browned.
Once fish is cooked take it out and let it set aside.
Chips:-
If you can be bothered cutting up some potatoes cut them into chunky steak sized chips and while doing so boil some water once you have all the potatoes cut into steak chips size place them into the hot wait and let boil for 5minutes drain it out and let set in the fridge for bout 5-10mins and then you can pull them out and fry them until golden brown.
Alternatively - You can just buy chips from the supermarket :lolf: :lolf:
Enjoy GUYS!! with a side of salad and add tartar sauce
