I have been catching a lot of red fin but they are only 15 to 20cm long.

Stick your knife in the fishes ?F^&* and cut all the way up to the head. Remove gills and guts should come with the gills by pulling towards the tail of the fish.
Otherwise cut behind the head 3/4 through, break the neck and pull the guts, gills and heads in one go, you can do it that way if you are lazy.
Also remove the scales?

Nothing worse than having a knife stuck in your ?F^&* :icon_lolz:Tonyzee wrote:Stick your knife in the fishes ?F^&* and cut all the way up to the head. Remove gills and guts should come with the gills by pulling towards the tail of the fish.

Better off skinning them I reckon...
Just had a feed of Reddies for lunch that I caught last night and today.
Cheers, Scott.

Re: How to gut a fish
Simply put your knife in the anal vent and slice to head, open up the cavity and scoop out all the guts. Don't forget to clean the backbone from the inside as this is where toxins will gather, it's easily removed with a teaspoon or a knife. Voila!
There is no such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid answer.
