Strange Catch from yesterday.

Post by adtrac » Sun May 04, 2014 12:21 pm

Can anyone ID this, I caught it yesterday fishing in the wind and rain was very shocked to see this surface when I thought I was pulling in a chunk of reef or weed. Pic is of a 1kg model I caught the 4kg one with a big 902 beak. Didn't put up much of a fight at all was really just a dead weight but was in pristine condition. :icon_lolz:

What you have there is th e most common of beginners surf spin outfits, often seen in the hands of first year salmon fisherman, found along back beaches and rock platforms, but also prolific in the bay. Best season is April to August.

I'm afraid it sounds suspiciously like trout & salmon farms - where if you catch one, you have to pay for it.
