help! not sure what i caught.
Wadup boys & girls,..
I went out last night with bunch of mates and noticed a whole bunch of lil fish hanging about.. so i thought why not..
started pulling them in by the dozens... as they were hungry.. just tried to ID it but not so unsure?
Some called them Tommy ruffs? AKA herrings?
fresh outta the water they had a green colour on their back but after abit they turn brown..
Please help ID lol :wink1:

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: help! not sure what i caught.
Just make sure you check vinhii as juvenile salmon look remarkedly similar and you don't want to get caught with any undersize fish.
The tommy's also feel rough when handled unlike the salmon, which are smooth.

There is actually information in the fishing guide about how to tell baby salmon and tommy roughs apart.
