Best eaten fresh IMO, you need a bit more for a whole feed though.

Don't feel too bad about not knowing it, I hooked one a month ago on a whiting charter.
I held it up, said "useless f***ing Wrasse" and chucked it back over the side.
The Skipper nearly punched me in the head.
I've since learned they are a good eating fish

Blue spotted Goatfish. And yes, they are very good eating, kept the last one I caught down near the heads....very tasty, the only problem being they don`t grow terribly large..
Will take bait, and more so, small soft plastics. Pretty common around the piers..

PS, the two elongated barbels under the chin are used to stir up sediment, they then pick out any edible items...
