Juvinile Yellow Belly???

Both of them had red eyes (hard to see in the photo), so almost certainly a tench.

It’s a tench. As kids we’d catch a heap of them in the 1980’s. Also lots of Redfin and the odd trout. The creek was pretty good back then, with turtles and the odd platypus seen. I saw two platypus behind the water treatment plant near Jackson’s Hill.
