Here's a really hard one. These fish were bought by my friend's friend's landlord from an online store. Could be from anywhere but my guess is its not Australian.

I was asked to id them but I'm completely stumped.

Doesn’t look like the type of fish that should have scales. It sort of looks like some kind of mackerel, but them scales and fins are throwing me way off. Almost whiting like. Idk

Mackerel icefish (I think). You are amazing, mackerel was the hint I needed!
