The Long weekend Report
Managed to get a few sessions in on the long weekend just passed.
Trip 1.
went out with dad for a casual flick, chasing some squid and pinkies thats are Prolific around the bay atm.
we had a fair few undersized pinkies keeping us busy mostly, but also managed a few keepers between 30 and 35cm, lots of flathead as well in that 35cm range plus a fair few squid. and some snook as well.
coming back home was a little bit later than usual and it was a bit dark, i managed to see a yatching marker buoy only a few feet from me and by then it was too late, ploughed straight into and over it... my dad looked shocked hahaha...
a few small scratches on the poly hull, and some plastic scrub marks on the prop, theres one reason to own a poly hull
Trip 2.
Caught up with the lads from Team Born2fish for a landbased shark session.
was a very quite night at the start, and then right on tidechange, got bitten of twice in a row maybe 5 mins apart.. both times there was good amount of weight on the rod, reel starts to scream and bang, gone!!!!!!!!
ironically the next day this pops up on my social media feed from quite a few years ago when I was making up some wire rigs for a landbased session many moons ago..
Trip 3.
Took dad out again for a bit of a squid and pinkie session.
this was a short one, but plenty of action, 16 squid and 4 pinkies, few snook and a monster 60cm flathead came onboard. We left the squid biting to beat the traffic home
no mishaps on the way home either
Cheers

Re: The Long weekend Report
Thanks Guys,
Yeah the marker buoy was one of those days where things just happen to have legs and just jump in front of you.
nobody hurt, no damage besides a few small scratches on the hull, the buoy is still standing ready for me to take it down again
