So took my father in-law out yesterday for his first fish in Oz, first time in boat . First time to use and rod and reel for that matter. Headed to Clifton springs - channel and onto a few reds. Not overly big but happy with out come .
3 reds, couple flatties.

Re: So...Snapper???
As some of the forum members would know I struggled majorly in the early season (sep / oct) but got onto some really nice fish from mid to late November. Just when they started coming on the chew we had a 10 day blowout and I couldn't get out because of the shitty weather. I actually haven't been snapper fishing since. I will be going in the next couple of days and am very curious to see if i can get onto any.
Re: So...Snapper???
The guys at my local reckon the snapper have headed south of the bay and may be back further north around March. We've not got on to any from the Parkdale to Brighton beaches this season, where usually we'd be walking away with a couple or more each session. Switched it up to WP gummies last night and walked away with a decent one.
