An easy way is a nice trim to expose the root.

A couple of inches will often work out ok, as long as you are talking thickness not length.

Length? Thickness? I think you replied to the wrong thread. This one is all about how to make small fish look bigger..

Anyhow..
While these clowns here find me a better way to take pics (seriously guys just hold it as close as possible and fire off a 100 or so shots, atleast one will be usable, speaking from experience btw!!!)
I'll just post up today's report as well.

Out for 5 hours or so this morning. Conditions were a bit lumpy
and fairly cold!!!! (Shaving to the roots , taking pills or shoving socks werent going to help you here)
We bagged on squid x1 biggest 44. Few over 30 and some mornington sized models..
They were certainly harder this morning that's for sure
Last pic is from.last weeks haul.

Yeah. I figured might as well get them while they're going and everyone else is chasing the snapper. Even had some time to test some new jigs (donuts on them so far). Play around with lighter line class ( all these squid were caught on 8lb) get some video done and few other bits and bobs.
