Arrow Squid

Given a box of frozen Arrow Squid caught the other day off Tasmania
Im gunna clean a few up and prepare them as bait for Whiting
Has anybody else used Arrow for whiting bait before ?

Hi Denis, I use them all the time and the whiting love them. I buy one at the fish market and clean out the guts, then cut it into 8 bits and freeze them snap lock bags. Each bag is enough for a session as it is pretty tough and you can catch 3 or 4 fish on each bait. I usually have mussels as well so I use a few of them too.

If I need to buy squid for bait it's always Arrow squid, much cheaper than calamari and works just as well when pounded.

Plenty of squid around St.leonards Db fresh is best only need one
