I got 2 yaks and personally I'm happier with my yaks than a boat.
Even after hiring a boat this weekend I still prefer my yak & the ease to launch & unlimited launch zones :thumbsup:
Reading this & other stories just confirms it :-D

This is the exact reason Kayak sales are booming.

What I would give to see Rex back in VRfish. Need to overlook the minor matters of political incorrectness and look at the big picture. He is 100% committed to recreational fishing and that is they type of person we need standing for us.

Are VRFISH aware boaters wait up to 2 to 3 hours to put boats on trailers during peak times?

Are VRFISH aware that some of the existing harbors are not large enough to accomodate the recreational fleet when weather conditions become dangerous?
One thing is certain...they haven't seen your post! They have had no presence on this forum since January. We told them what we thought, and one can assume they didn't like what they heard!

I've tried that, still waiting to hear back from 2010 queries.

They purport to be vic anglers peak representative body but they are more a quassi government dept.Better off going through your local state member if you want answers or info imo

The return of the fish-e-fax after a year or 2 missing is good to see.

Still no response on this. I'm really looking forward to snapper season, I'm really going to miss being able to easily launch and retrieve though :(

Also, they should have signs up at ramps with an abbreviated version of this on it;

I am pretty sure most of the guys posting here regularly are pretty dedicated fishermen. Also, the thread isnt about when you can catch Snapper, its about the ques and wait times during peak snapper season, and whether there are plans to help ease the load during these times.

Bit disappointing to pay rego, licence fees, launching fees etc. and then have to put up with substandard facilities.
That's like saying try driving down Punt Road at 6pm on a friday night during peak footy season with a Collingwood game on at the MCG.

Ofcourse if you go in the absolute peak time it's going to be crowded.
