Just had this link sent to me from a good friend of mine from Mepps in France, thought it may give you an idea on some new baits for a gutsy Rainbow.. :dinner:

It certainly is surprising how much food the trout could fit! I read an article once where fly fisherman use flies that imitate mice to catch trout, possibly in New Zealand. They were very successful, especially regarding the size of the trout caught!

Dosnt that happensafter a plague. A while back murray cod where only feeding on mice when that plague was in N.S.W, thats cod though i had no idea trout would eat mice and that many is amazing.

The article I mentioned was referring to the fish being captured on mouse imitations during a plague.

Do yourself a favour and watch "eastern rises" the trailer is on YouTube. The movie can be torrented. Absolutely amazing movie about huge fish with some caught on mice flys. I'm not a fly fisherman but I tell you what it inspires you to become one.

Well there ya go. Trout on mice! Im not a fly fisherman i have tried it and kept hookin the back of my head, how would a mouse fly work? Wouldnt it be a bit heavy or do you cast it out and retreave it like a surface popper? I have no idea about fly fishing
