DIFFERENT SHAPES OF FISH

I was looking through a few old fishing pics and came across 2 Tigerfish pics - the second was caught in the lower Zambezi where there is a lot less current, plenty of weedy side channels and it seems much more to eat. The first was caught in an area of the upper Zambezi where the river is much faster and has a sandy bottom with little in the way of weed or structure. Interestingly the second fish put on some crazy jumps while the first just went deep in the current. Both were great fun though as caught on trout gear and 4 kg line. Tigers have very hard mouths and frequently throw the hooks, particularly when they jump. Then again perhaps the fat Tiger was like me and enjoyed eating :super:

Defently interesting fish.
Maybe the bottom one has more muscles cos it had to search and chase food every day

Similar to how snapper differ in appearance from the West to the East. Afaik they are the same species.

Hi Gra I have been in Liberia since March and then back to Zambia end September. I plan a quick trip back to Oz in October and then am likely to be in Tanzania from November. No rest for the wicked!!! At least back in Zambia I will get to wet a line for a day or two. I definitely have fishing withdrawal at the moment.
