Where would YOU go on holiday?

So I haven't had a holiday since 2002. The furthest I've been away from melbourne since then would be Bendigo to look at a boat.

Cannot be in Australia!

I want to go somewhere where I can wet a few lines, bait, lure, fly whatever, I don't care. Somewhere with views. Somewhere to do something a little different, swim with something, fish for something, hike something whatever.

Now don't get me wrong, I know this country is literally drenched in amazing places, but I want tosave it for when I retire

I intend to cage dive with great whites and swim along side a humpback within the near future, if you can suggest something with those aswell, it would be mint!


Not only do I want someone else to choose my next holiday destination, I'm also interested to find out what other peoples dream holiday would be.

I know you said nothing in oz.
But have you considered lorde howe island..
Plenty of fishing, swimming, snorkelling on offer. Good luck trying to get in though as they have a restricted number of people on the island at any given time.

You must have some budget in mind!! That would help narrow down possibilities.

This is true - I used to work with a well off guy who was getting divorced so he started spending his money on his 'bucket list'. He had a holiday which included a Russian sub dive to the :titanic:. YES - the real Titanic which sank!

The ruskies used to sell trips about 15 or so years ago to assist with research costs. It cost him over 50K USD at the time. The dive took almost 12 hours and I watched the film and saw some of his photos.

Are you in that league???

If not how about this - a friend of my son's went on a fishing holiday to Alaska. He landed some mean fish and plans to go back as he had so much fun. Do you want info on that???
