G'day Frozo, you seem to have got 3 more than most, so well done :tu:

Scollaps are a very good bait & Burley too, even for humans lightly grilled :-D

Disclaimer: any reference to grilling is of Scollaps and not of humans :o_0:

Cheers, Bugatti

Thanks for the report mate. I reckon silvers are more of a PPB bait, I've never done any good on them in WP personally. Sauries on the other hand...ooh, look out ;)

Lucky I wasn't fishing nearby or you may have hooked a "Redhunter"! I'll invest any number of fresh Cala as bait, but be buggered if I'd do the same with scallops! They're far too tasty, lol.

A tough day on the water from various locations by the sounds of it, but damn it's still great just being out there 'ay :)

Silver's yes but they were fresh and similarly with scallops I was throwing everything at it with fresh bait options trying to get a 10kg plus red.

Nice work

I went out Tuesday for a late arvo into the night session mostly fished the Corals and Cornet bay way, still a lot of boats fishing down there.

Managed a decent keeper flattie one Snapper but only mid size and one metre long gummy., i also caught a decent size port jackson shark that went back.

Took a mate who normally fishes down Inverloch who is a keen fisherman but all he caught was two undersized gummy that went back.

He was using Pilchards and Salmon fillets, i got the Snapper and Gummy and even the Port Jackson shark on four big whole prawns i found in the freezer that the missus didnt want as were old, but was also using squid.

The prawns were pretty impressive as soon as i switched to them bang, i think i might have to add them to my regular bait selection, they stayed on the hook well and can only imagine how fresh ones would go.

I did actually also go out in the morning from Newhaven for about two hours trying to get some fresh calamari for bait, but got nothing tried all the way from the quarry to the bridge in all the usual hot spots from 2 metres to 5 metres but nothing and had a 2 lines out plus the jig i was flicking.

Wouldn’t do a snapper trip in WesternPort without squid for bait.

Squid in WPB is the best bait but we could not find a single squid the last 3 trips. Very strange.

Not quite, we would have needed 9 to bag out.

Didn't leave the ramp, motor troubles?
