Nice work guys! I was up the top end and got onto a few gumbos. So sound like it was a productive day today.

We were on flinders bank getting all the just sized flathead so we got annoyed and left hahaha.
We caught quite a few but all were just sized or under so left the area.
My cousin hooked up to something really really good but dropped it half way to the boat. Not sure what it was.

I took most of the wrasse home. They will mostly be eaten at a family bbq tommorow. And might curry some later on. Will let you guys know what they taste like.
Think everyone is just curious, as so many of us have caught them before but never eaten them. I for one hope you give us a positive taste review as they can be in plague numbers sometimes and they appear to have a good amount of flesh on them. Did you bleed them first? Not sure whether you need to or not...

 Awesome mixed bag
I was off Flinders Ocean side in the yak today in beautiful conditions (couldn’t find any Kings) & pulled in a bunch of huge Blue Throat Wrasse but have always been told they taste terrible so tossed them back

They're not the worst tasting fish, turn a bit mushy and best used in fish cakes, curries etc.

Wrasse tastes like slimy ****. It may be OK with curry or anything else that will drown its taste and smell.

I cooked one the same way i cook pinkies. I gave my dog his share which was the whole fish because i cant swallow my share. :-) The bugger gave it one sniff and walked away.
