Upgrades to Bellarine boat ramps

Post by Andrews » Thu Apr 27, 2023 12:19 pm

More than $100,000 has been announced to upgrade boat ramps in Portarlington and Indented Head.

The Indented Head jetty will be upgraded with a new non-slip deck, aimed at improving boat access during launch and retrieval.

Several ramps including Steeles Rocks at Portarlington will be dredged along the Bellarine to provide better access during different tide levels.

The jetty ladders at Steeles Rocks are also in for upgrades, while the ramp surface at Point Richards will be imparoved.

Minister for Outdoor Recreation Sonya Kilkenny said the better facilities would entice more people to visit the region.

"It will make getting out on the water easier for more Victorians and really opening up the Bellarine and the Geelong area for more people to visit," Ms Kilkenny said.

And she said the upgrades would have flow-on benefits to local businesses.
