I'm excited to say that I'm spending 10 nights up at Noosa in Queensland in early July.
I'm gonna spend 99.9% of my time there fishing - so a few tips on the location would be much appreciated!
I have been there numerous times - but for some reason never fished seriously!
I'm planning to spend most of my time estuary/beach fishing for -
- Bream
- Whiting
- Flathead
- Tailor
- GT
- Mangrove Jack
- and MUCH, MUCH more :D
But I will also try to squeeze in some time for chasing big reefies and maybe some freshwater fish as well.
If anyone can give me some info in order to help me tick a few fish off the bucket list, I'd be stoked.
Thanks in advance!

Breaks my heart to be stuck in cold Victoria every time. I've been out with Noosa BlueWater Charters,
Good blokes.

Re: Noosa.
Trevking - get your hands on some Zman plastics - they kill it. Try the 3" MinnowZ's and 4" swimmerZ's, my goto colour is Opening Night or Pearl, or the Blue Back Herring (great mullet imitation). They will tempt Flatties, Tailor, GT's Jacks, and anything that swims. Match em up to the TT Tournament jigheads, or if going into snaggy water then get some snakehead jigheads in whatever weight you are comfortable with (I usually stick to 1/6, 1/4 and 1/2ounce) on a 3/0 up to 5/0.
They also do a 2.75" and 4" GrubZ, which are dy-no-mite!
If you havent already then check out Z-Man and TT Lures Australian FB page's, full of great info, hints and tips.
I cant speak highly enough of Z-Man plastics - I dont use any others.
Hot tip - they are very stretchy so a dab of superglue on the jighead will stop the plastic coming off, or try the new HeadlockZ jigheads, but they are super durable, toothy critters wont bite them in half or chop the tails off.
Another tip - dont put them with other plastics like Berkleys etc. They dont mix well with others.
Im pretty jealous mate, and look forward to hearing all about it.
