Oh man, you're living the dream!
While the wind is still blowing 50kmh NW here in Melb.
Halco 40gm?

Do you use wader or short and barefoot?
O I forgot to answer your other question. Waders mate :)
On a rough day, I'm scared to fall with wader on and get washed... But in freezing cold weather, no wader means frozen hell.
How deep you go into the water to cast? A knee?
If you have a belt on over your waders they can actually be pretty safe. They actually act as a float when you tuck your knees in if you're washed away. Otherwise, Just have one clip on or none of the clips/shoulder straps done up so they are easy to slip off.

If the swell is that big and it's crashing onto the beach so much so that you're scared of getting washed away you probably shouldn't stand too close anyway.

Cheers, Anth
Thanks Anth :)

So we arrived around 3 and checked into our Air BnB and after a short rest from a 7 hour drive decided to go for a short spin session. Turns out it was a good idea as we landed a couple of beauties. Both taken on 40 gram Halco streaker metals :P
Hopefully some more action tomorrow :)

Yes Seb! The weather is perfect up here. Just magic mate :P
And yea the 40 g Halcos did the damage again! Great fun. Reel was screaming :)
Don't rub the weather in mate
Murphy will get you lol
Lol hahaha!
Well maybe I spoke too soon as it was a bit windy today but was a strong northerly which still wasn’t too bad from the surf. We still had a good, fun session. Will update about today later :)

So day 3 so us wake up to another nice day, however the wind really picked up around midday so we planned a drive to Bega for some cheese tasting.
It’s just a 20 minute drive from Merimbula :P
I went to have a look at Bega river but there was hardly any water to wet a line.
Bought a pumpkin from a small table on the side of the road and then headed over to the Bega cheese site.

We did a bit of cheese tasting and then ordered a nice cheese platter :P

Then went into the store and bought some of our favourite cheese from the platter and also some local honey.

After lunch we drove to Tathra to have a look at the wharf and also the boat ramp. When we arrived at the wharf it was blowing a gale, but looked like a great spot to wet a line and might be doing that tomorrow if we have time.

On the way home we stopped off at a spot we hadn’t been to before which turned out to come out to a car park on the other side of a spot that we had fished yesterday! But turns out the walk was shorter so that was good. We gave it a go for about an hour before it got dark for a mix bag of salmons and tailors.
My missus out fished me today. It was definitely her day and not mine! I got hook ups but kept dropping them but did manage a few but she got the bigger ones!
We were also greeted by some kangaroos in the sand dunes on the walk over to the spot we wanted to fish.
