Thanks AnthSinsemilla wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:37 pmNice work LX. I've been meaning to head down to gunna for a spin sesh.
If you have a belt on over your waders they can actually be pretty safe. They actually act as a float when you tuck your knees in if you're washed away. Otherwise, Just have one clip on or none of the clips/shoulder straps done up so they are easy to slip off.Seb85 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:43 pmOn a rough day, I'm scared to fall with wader on and get washed... But in freezing cold weather, no wader means frozen hell.
How deep you go into the water to cast? A knee?
If the swell is that big and it's crashing onto the beach so much so that you're scared of getting washed away you probably shouldn't stand too close anyway.
Cheers, Anth

Hopefully some more action tomorrow

Re: Merrimbula/lakes entrance
So day 3 so us wake up to another nice day, however the wind really picked up around midday so we planned a drive to Bega for some cheese tasting.
It’s just a 20 minute drive from Merimbula
I went to have a look at Bega river but there was hardly any water to wet a line.
Bought a pumpkin from a small table on the side of the road and then headed over to the Bega cheese site.
We did a bit of cheese tasting and then ordered a nice cheese platter
Then went into the store and bought some of our favourite cheese from the platter and also some local honey.
After lunch we drove to Tathra to have a look at the wharf and also the boat ramp. When we arrived at the wharf it was blowing a gale, but looked like a great spot to wet a line and might be doing that tomorrow if we have time.
On the way home we stopped off at a spot we hadn’t been to before which turned out to come out to a car park on the other side of a spot that we had fished yesterday! But turns out the walk was shorter so that was good. We gave it a go for about an hour before it got dark for a mix bag of salmons and tailors.
My missus out fished me today. It was definitely her day and not mine! I got hook ups but kept dropping them but did manage a few but she got the bigger ones!
We were also greeted by some kangaroos in the sand dunes on the walk over to the spot we wanted to fish.

Re: Merrimbula/lakes entrance
Yea not too bad eaten fresh but I do prefer the smaller ones. Prefer tailors over the salmons as wellsmile0784 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:56 pmEither way there fun to catch any yum to eatLightningx wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:23 pmCheers mate!smile0784 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 11:52 amWell done mateLightningx wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2019 7:40 pmSo we arrived around 3 and checked into our Air BnB and after a short rest from a 7 hour drive decided to go for a short spin session.
