Fresh and salt in one day

Having not been able to go fishing for the last few weeks due family coming to Syd to visit me,read free trip,
I decided to go freshwater fishing I read a few Google reports and decided to go to Camden and fish the nepean river. Found a cracker of a spot near a bridge I flogged the water white multiple lure changes not even a follow. Time to move on drove to close to the waragambi dam drove down a track and again flogged the water white again not even a follow, I bumped into a local guy who was unloading his canoe we had a chat he said try the nepean in Penrith so off I went.
As I was driving up the track the sand gave way and I nearly rolled my Landcruiser it was on 3 wheels I engaged the center diff put my boot into it and ploughed my way out a quick check nil damage.
I got to the spot the guy told me I walked the bank for an hour the only action was I scared a fish probably rubbed my line on him. Feeling dejected i decided to head back to syd on the way i decided to stop off at drummoyne for a quick flick.
I eventually found somewhere to park my car wandered down to the water front and started flicking lures nothing not even a follow as I was just about to go bang I am on its a flathead around 40 cm i gave it to some locals wandered back to my spot the next cast bang on again they love the little atomic another flathead around the same size, then a school of tailor cruised in great fun as it got dark I gave it away all in all a good day.
