Recommended Rod Repairs

I'm going to get a couple rods of mine fixed up, mainly redoing the guides because the epoxy has become all cracked after years of use.

I've been looking through the threads and seeing who has used who to repair but they are all over the place and some from many years ago.

I thought i'd start this thread so guys can recommend the quality rod repairer or builder they have used and the mods can make it a sticky so if ever someone needs a rod fixed they can just flick through this list and find someone.

So i guess tell us who you have used, their contact details and what kind of job they did for you.

Cheers, Anth

Yatsie (David Yates) he is the best there is. He is a Legend :notworthy: here in South Australia. I haven't had any work done by him (I'm an Araldite repair kind of bloke) BUT I have visited him at his home in a country coastal town here in South Oz, not much amazes me but he did. His work and setup and his passion blew my mind. And what's even better, he is an absolute top bloke, great sense of humour and a great bloke to have a yarn and a drink with. And get this, if it couldn't get any better , , , , he's a Jacks Drinker

Have heard many good things about Wayne from southern sports fishing.
Being a rod builder himself I guess he knows what he is doing.
I have never used him though.

I went through "hooked on" in Hoppers Crossing was about $45 a guide though
Real good job, very sentimental rod so, wanted a top job

+1 Wayne from Southern Sports Fishing near Black Rock. He's fixed a few rods of mine and been relatively cheap and quick turn-around.

I need to repair all the guides on mine and my brothers nitro.. I'm not that confident and don't have a rotisserie. It looks easy enough but by the time i buy all the gear to setup i may as well just pay someone if it doesn't end up costing too much to get it done properly.

Gra was that including guides and a special kind of binding or just to re wrap existing guides?

Would you say the job was done really well?
