Murray Cod?

That video, is sure to see the place fished out before winter
Obviously a lot of effort has been put into the lake prior to it being opened to fishing. The effort has been well promoted by the authorities leading up to the opening. I think it is a good idea to promote the location to a certain extent. Publicise its opening and what has been done there and highlight the regulations / access areas etc. This video goes a bit over the top! Its the first I have heard of Murray Cod being there! Why they would say that is beyond me - nothing more than speculation which is not worth promoting. Some great footage of large trout. People are going to flock there! Of course Rob gets a plug in for his sponsor - Rapala - so basically I reckon this video is a wankfest! So what are waiting for? Go buy a Rapala lure and get down there and catch a fish. Make sure you take a few large spinnerbaits for the monster cod!
thaks

It will be interesting to see how it all goes.
I wonder if they will keep those specific fishing spots or open more later on??
the quick walk i did the other day didnt take that long or wasnt that far.
So in turn at a guess those spots will cop a right floggin and will be almost impossible to catch a fish.
At least it will give the fish a chance to breed in the no go zones.
Might have to float a balloon across the other side of the lake lol
looking forward to having a fish there as its on the way home from work.
cheers cam

Ive never thought of Never thought of that it that way.
Is that because they swim up stream to spawn? sort of like salmon?
isnt there any creeks that feed the res that they could breed in?
interesting thanks for that
cheers cam

no creeks with gravel bottoms that they need or so it seams

I'm sure there will be an on going stocking program though with the feed and deep water the trout should grow well in there
catching them may not be all that easy though

although trout \ need a stream to breed they normally school up in gravelly shaloows around lakes during "breeding season"

Been there three times now, early morning, just on dusk, hot and cold, not had a bite, seen or heard of a fish caught. Only reports are from tackle shop owners. Funny thing that.
